Phoenix local AmberSkies is no stranger to the world of nerd-dom. She has been involved in the creative arts and immersed in the world of pop culture, anime, and gaming media since she was 8 years old. Pokemon and Sailor Moon came blasting into her life in the 90's, and quickly paved the way for a lifetime of artistry and fun. Being raised in her Dad's store-- a tabletop miniatures gaming shop/LAN gaming Arcade-- it's no wonder her adult creative life turned out the way it did!
In the last 12 years of her growing career, she has harnessed the power of the fandoms she loves, and has built up her art based empire-- transcending to the professional cosplaying stage.
Amber has taken on increasingly elaborate and complex costuming builds, proudly working hand in hand with amazing companies via her costuming work such as Marvel Studios, Fox Entertainment, and the Walt Disney Company. She uses her self-taught arsenal of creative skills to transform herself, oftentimes from scraps and recycled goods, into fantastic heroes and beasts across all fandoms. Amber specializes in highly detailed prosthetic/makeup work, elaborate paint jobs, and her Armor/Prop Building.
Within her last decade on the con- circuit, she has professionally competed with her cosplays and won First Place/Best in Show at Disney's D23 Expo, San Diego Comicon International, Phoenix Fan Fusion, Amazing Arizona Comicon, Long Beach Comic Expo, and more.
She now spends her convention days as an experienced Cosplay Contest judge and Guest, craft panelist, and enthusiastic MC for various creative endeavors at shows throughout the state. Her company AmberSkies Creations can be found vending in most Artist Alleys throughout Arizona and the West Coast, showcasing for sale her pop culture and fantasy inspired paintings, along with tons of unique handmade merch.
She loves crushing hugs, lives for building others confidence in costuming up, and spreading cosplay positivity for all-- leaving a sprinkle of sunshine wherever she flies! She is honored to return as a guest once more to her home show where it all began-- Phoenix Fan Fusion!
