Frank Paur is an accomplished American animation director and storyboard artist whose work helped define the golden era of 1990s animated television. He is best known for his contributions to landmark series such as Batman: The Animated Series, Gargoyles, X-Men: Evolution, and The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Paur’s directorial style is widely recognized for its cinematic storytelling, dynamic action, and strong emphasis on character development, which brought a greater level of maturity and depth to animated television. His work on Batman: The Animated Series earned multiple Daytime Emmy nominations, while his contributions to Gargoyles and X-Men: Evolution garnered Annie Award nominations. He also won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program (for programming more than one hour) for the 1999 Spawn animated series.
Over the course of his career, Paur has contributed to an extensive list of influential projects, including Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man, Hulk Vs., Planet Hulk, Invincible Iron Man, Harley Quinn, Static Shock, The Real Ghostbusters, G.I. Joe, Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, and Ultimate Avengers: The Movie, among many others.
