Andy Belanger is a fan-favorite comic artist, creator, animator, storyboard artist, and professional wrestler based out of Montreal. He has worked extensively in the mainstream comics industry as well as across film, television, and video games. Belanger has collaborated with major publishers including DC Comics, WildStorm, Heavy Metal Magazine, TKO Studios, IDW Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Valiant Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, and Image Comics. At Image Comics, Belanger co-created and illustrated the science-fiction series Southern Cross with Becky Cloonan. The series was later optioned by NBCUniversal for development as an anime project in Japan. For Heavy Metal Magazine, he illustrated several projects including The Simulationists with Duncan Trussell and Donny Cates, Mythopia with Grant Morrison, and Rattlehead with Dan Fogler. Belanger also collaborated with Andrew Stott on the WWE Comics line at BOOM! Studios. At TKO Studios, he illustrated the graphic novel Pound for Pound written by Natalie Chaidez. His other comic work includes Swamp Thing with Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire for DC Comics, Friday the 13th with Joshua Hale Fialkov for WildStorm, and Kill Shakespeare with Conor McCreery and Anthony Del Col at IDW Publishing. Belanger also worked as the trailer animator for the award-winning video game Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon at Ubisoft. In 2019, he launched the comic series Mother Trucker through his publishing company Lethal Comics. Belanger works as a freelance cartoonist and illustrator out of Montreal’s Studio Lounak and is also a professional wrestler with the International Wrestling Syndicate, performing under the ring name Bob “The Animal” Anger.
